Credit Valley Housing Market Conditions Indicator

Current conditions indicate a seller's market. This is the same as the previous month’s conditions. In a seller market there are more buyers than there are homes available and in a buyer market there are plenty of homes on the market. A balanced market falls in between, where there are roughly the same number of sellers and buyers. As a rough guide, if there are 4 months of inventory or less it’s a seller's market. A buyer's market is 6 months of inventory or more. It’s a balanced market when the months of inventory fall in the middle.

Housing

Credit Valley experienced its biggest construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available housing is from this era. The predominant housing types in this area are single detached homes and townhouses. Homeowners occupy roughly 90% of the properties in the neighbourhood and renters occupy the remainder. There is a higher proportion of four or more-bedroom homes in this area.
